Sukjeongmun or Sukjeong Gate (North Gate on the walls of Hanyang city, the capital of the Joseon dynasty) in Mt. Bukak in Seoul, which has not been used since 1968 to block access to Cheong Wa Dae, will be opened to the public for the first time in 38 years beginning next April. The area that will be opened stretches 1.1 km from Hongryeon temple next to Samcheonggak and Sukjeongmun to Chotdae Rocks. On September 8 when Cheong Wa Dae and the Cultural Heritage Administration opened this area to the public on a trial basis, the captivating scenery around Sukjeongmun and Chotdae Rocks left many cultural assets experts in awe.
