China and the United States will hold the first round of regular high-level meetings on August 1 to improve strategic relations between the two countries.

Chief delegates, Dai Bingguo, China`s vice minister of Foreign Affairs, and Robert Zoellick, the U.S. deputy secretary of state, will meet and have a comprehensive dialogue regarding various issues such as military, trade, energy, terror and Taiwan, which are the causes of discord between two countries.

The two countries will also discuss how to form a more responsible high-level dialogue framework in order to build mutual trust and avoid military conflict. This meeting may also naturally deal with the North Korean nuclear issue as it is being held in the process of the six-party talks.
