“Hwang Woo-suk fever” is expected to sweep the Frankfurt Book Fair, which is to be held in Germany this October. The Frankfurt Book Fair, the biggest of its kind, of this year will feature Korea as its guest of honor.

On May 31, the Korean Publishers Association (KPA) said that professor Hwang Woo-suk of Seoul National University will hold a special lecture at the Korean pavilion and guest of honor pavilion of the Frankfurt Book Fair, which will take place starting October 19 to 25, adding that Germany’s Friedrich Naumann Foundation invited Professor Hwang, and that Hwang had accepted the invitation.

Accordingly, at the Frankfurt Book Fair, it is anticipated that the focus of the world’s academic and publishing circles will be fixed on Professor Hwang.

Professor Hwang will lecture on biotechnology at the guest of honor pavilion, and at the Korean pavilion, Hwang and two other professors of Seoul National University, Choi Jae-cheon (biology), Kim Byung-jong (Korean painting) will give lectures on biotechnology and bioethics, and Korean painting, respectively. The above-mentioned three professors co-authored a book named “My Life Story” at the end of last year.
