Two descendants of those who killed Empress Myeongseong, the last empress of Joseon Dynasty, visited Korea to apologize 110 years after her death. Datsumi Kawano, the Empress’ assassin Shigeyaki Kunimoto’s grandchild, and Geiko Ieiri, wife of a grandchild of another assassin Kakitsu Ieiri, are shedding tears before the tomb of Empress Myeongseong and her husband Emperor Gojong in Namyangju in Gyeonggi Province on May 10.
