At a cabinet meeting held at the Central Government Complex located in Sejongno, Seoul yesterday morning, Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan said, “I can`t do anything except fire or give warnings to executives who are indifferent and passive to the transfer of public institutions to localities, regardless of their terms.”

Government Information Minister Kim Chang-ho conveyed that Prime Minister Lee said, “Inspection of the progress of transferring public institutions to localities revealed that some executives carry their mission passively, thinking that the transfer would not be made during their terms, or are busy playing a wait-and-see game against labor unions.”

“Some are plotting to send only the minimum number of personnel to localities with the pretext of managing their Seoul branches and leaving the rest in the Metropolitan area. Since this has to do with the president’s fundamental administration philosophy, it is not at all a matter that should end in smoke,” said Lee.
