President Roh Sends Condolence Message to Vatican; Delegates to Depart Tomorrow

President Roh Moo-hyun sent a telegram of condolence to the Vatican, expressing his condolences to the holy passing of Pope John Paul II yesterday.

President Roh also issued a condolence massage, saying, “I express my deep sorrow to Catholics who lost their great guardian of love,” adding, “I am mourning over the holy passing of the great spiritual leader Pope John Paul II with the sorrow of the Korean government, the nation, and all mankind.”

The government decided to send a delegation of condolence, headed by Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan, to the Vatican tomorrow.
