Korea-India Summit Meeting

President Roh and Mrs. Gwon Yang-sook visited India as state guests on October 4 on a two-day schedule.

President Roh arrived in New Delhi this afternoon and visited the LG Electronics factory in Noida and then had a friendly talk with about with 300 Korean expatriates.

President Roh will have a summit meeting with Manmohan Singh, the prime minister of India, on October 5.

The two leaders will discuss on issues such as △ organizing the Joint Study Group (JSG) to expand economic and trade cooperation between two countries, △ Korean corporate advances in the field of construction such as roads, dams, and plants, and △ reinforcing cooperation with the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) during this meeting. The two countries will also conclude a treaty on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and an extradition treaty at the meeting.

After completing his schedule in India on October 6, President Roh will visit Vietnam as a state guest to attend the fifth Asia-Europe Meeting, which will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
