An evaluation report of candidate cities for the new administrative capital will be released on July 5.

The Promotion Committee of New Administrative Capital Construction said, “We originally planned to hold our fourth meeting on July 1 and to announce an evaluation score by city during this meeting. However, as a new prime minister, a joint chairman of the committee, has been recently approved by parliament, we postponed the meeting to let the new prime minister join us.”

The committee chairman position is shared by Kim An-jei, honorary professor at Seoul National University, who represents the nongovernmental side, and the prime minister, who has not been available for the first three meetings.

Previously, the committee had selected four candidate cities: Chungbuk Eumsung-Chincheongun, Chungnam Cheonanshi, Chungnam Yonkigun-Kongjushi (Changgimyon), and Chungnam Kongju (Kyeryongmyon)-Nonsanshi.

The committee will make its final decision in August after holding a local public hearing on the evaluation report for each candidate city.
