The Classic Spike by the Old Boys

“The first all-star game in volleyball history with lots of attraction for the viewers."

The 2004 KT&G V tour volleyball all-star game on February 15 will show various attractions featuring the past all-star players and will be held in the Jam-Sil student Gymnasium.

The highlight of the ceremony focuses on the head-to-head of the “historical favorites.” It will be the Korea securities old all-star team against the old all-star members of the rest of the teams.

For the preparation of the match, the Korea securities members including ex-coach Jin Joon-teak (Dong-Hae Univ. coach) have shown up in Kyung-Gi Univ. gymnasium three times a week and have worked-out ardently.

“The dolphin-spiker” Jang Yoon-chang (Kyung-Gi Univ. professor), “Blade setter” Lee Kyung-suk (Kyung-Gi Univ. head coach), Lee Jae-pil (Il-San girls middle school coach) and Park Sam-yong (LG oil coach) for the left, centers Jung Ui-tak (Pyung-Chon coach) and Park Joo-jum (Korea Highway Corporation coach) are currently selected as the “best six.”

The opposition super all-star team holds out well with formed team organization and young power as the team is led by computer worker Shin Young-chul (Samsung Fire coach), and is made up of Choi Chun-shik (teacher of a middle school associated with In-Ha Univ.), Ha Jong-hwa (Dong Myung high school coach), Kang Ho-in (LG Fire coach), Seo Nam-won (Samsung Fire coach), Lee Sang-yul (In-Chang high school teacher) and Lim Do-hyun (ex-Hyundai Capital coach), who recently returned from studies in Canada.

After the old boys all-star match, Kim Se-jin and Jang Byung-chul from Samsung Fires and Lee Kyung-soo and Sohn Suk-bum from LG Fires and Lee Sun-kyu and Park Chul-woo from Hyundai Capitals and the rest of the squad face-off it will be interesting to watch as this group were originally teammates.

Also the active leading cannon strikers such as Lee Kyung-soo and Shin Sun-ho of Samsung Fires and Park Chul-woo will show off in the “challenge of the strong spikes” an event which measures the speed of the players’ spikes, and in between show times popular singers’ performances will be held.
