Hwang In-gyu`s Winning of 100m Free Style Surprises All

Dok Goh-hyuk (11, Seoul Yonchun Elementary School) and Yoo Hae-chong (15, Kyunggi Shinsun Middle School) won the 75th Dong A Swimming Contest hosted by The Dong A Ilbo, and set new records.

The contest was held in the indoor swimming pool located in the Cheju Sports Complex. Dok won the 100m free style for elementary students, cutting the previous record by 0.55 second.

The second place went to Kim Kwong-min, 2 minutes 45 seconds behind Dok. Dok, fifth grader in elementary school, already stands 172cm.

Among middle school students, Yoo won the 100m free style, cutting short the previous record by 0.36, and set a new record of 54.88 seconds. Lee Eun-hye won women`s 200 free style, setting a new Dong A record of 2 minutes and 19.49 seconds.

In the meanwhile, Busan Asian Games gold medallists Kim Min-suk and Goh Yoon-ho lost the men`s 100m free style to Hwang In-gyu, who won the top position with a record of 52.13 seconds.
