U.S. Announced, “Iraq Has Seriously Breached the UN Resolution”

The U.S. has announced that Iraq has violated the UN Resolution of ‘Material Breach’.

Regarding the report submitted by Iraq to UN about their possessive conditions of the weapon of mass destruction (WMD), John Negroponte, the US Ambassador of the UN Committee, stated that “Iraq has not been changing their misbehaviors of non-cooperation, omission, deception, etc and has been violating the UN Resolution 1441 of the ‘Material Breach’” on 19th at the UN headquarter.

Also, Collin Powell, the Secretary of States, cited that “Iraq has clearly violated the disarmament resolution. Iraq has not yet commented on the report of the UN Weaponry Inspection Committee written in 1998 regarding Iraq’s possession of 26,000 liters of anthrax virus.”

Henceforth, he also warned Iraq by saying, “The date has not been set yet but the world won’t wait forever.”

He also strongly emphasized to the UN Weaponry Inspection Committee that interview must be done with those scientists who have participated in Iraq`s Weaponry Development Program outside of Iraq.

By the U.S. announcing the ‘Material Breach’, the war with Iraq is nearing its date of a declaration. However, it is analyzed that the U.S. is not hasten the beginning of the war in order to build up its justification of the war and to promote stronger favorable war postulates.

The recent survey done by the Newsweek Times showed that the 66% of the responses showed that they oppose the attack on Iraq if the proof on Iraq’s possession of the weapon of mass destruction is not evidently clear. Thus, it suggested that the time has not come for a war yet.

Also, during the recent press conference, Richard Myers, the former U.S. Armed Forces Chief, has emphasized that the war with Iraq is not ‘a piece of cake’.

In order to minimize the loss as much as possible, the U.S. Armed Forces must prepare plans in case Saddam Hussein, the President of Iraq, orders the usage of biochemical weapon or carry on the strategy of self injury by burning up the petroleum wells, like during the Gulf War. On top of this, the U.S. must prepare for the worst-case scenario of Iraq’s complicity with Al Queda as well as the Terrorist groups.

Presently, the U.S. already has arranged around 50,000 soldiers in Gulf Sea but is planning to arrange 50,000 more by the end of January 2003. Moreover, it is expected that the military power from England and the allied countries will joined the force. The recent preventive vaccination of the small pox among the U.S. Forces is to prepare for the terrorism.

Amir Al Sadi, Iraq President’s counselor in charge of Science, refuted the U.S. and England regarding the U.S.`s announcement on the ‘Material Breach’ by stating, “Stop making assumptions but present definite evidences, even one at least.”
