Posted October. 31, 2002 22:38,

Starting on November 1, you can make an application for 393 kinds of civil affair documents including resident registration documents and read 40 kinds of those documents including land ledger on the Internet.

In addition, as government agencies share administration information about 20 kinds of documents such as resident registration and building register, you do not need to submit 1-4 required documents in 600 kinds of civil affairs requiring this information.

The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs announced on Oct. 31 that it would put the civil service innovation system into operation starting on November 1 as part of the Ministry’s e-government project. You should log on to the e-government website at www.egov.go.kr and type in ID and password to apply for the 393 kinds of civil documents or to read 40 kinds. When you apply for one of the 160 kinds of documents that require presentation of personal identification, you should go through e-authorization process and pay fees by credit card or electronic money or by using online transfer. Then you can be issued those documents at nearby government offices’ public service center. If you want to get e-signature authorization, you should apply for Internet banking service at banks, securities firms or post offices. If you already got public authorization using Internet banking service, you can just use it.
