Red ginseng has a high medical value for adult-type diabetes.
Vladmir Vuksan, professor of the University of Toronto, Canada announced in a press conference held in Korea Press Center, Jung-gu, Seoul on October 28, Red ginseng was taken by the adult-type diabetics(type 2) who are 90% of all diabetes for 3 months.
As the result, the red ginseng has the high medical value. The professor Vuksan will officially publish the study in the 8th International Ginseng Symposium held in Seoul National University on October 29.
The adult-type diabetes is a disease arisen from non-combination of Insulin Receptor and Insulin Hormone. As the insulin is much secreted in a pancreas, an side effect is arisen and a control of blood sugar is not done.
He explained, As the result that diabetics took 6g of Korea Red Ginseng every day for 3 months, the insulin concentration decreased by 30%, but the concentration of blood sugar wasnt raised. The red ginseng seemed to recover a sensitivity of insulin receptor. The American Ginseng didnt have the high medical treatment value. He added, 60% of American patients have used an alternative medicine such as a medicinal herb, but the study on the ginseng has been seldom or never approved internationally. To be approved the alternative medicine, the effect of Korea ginseng must be confirmed scientifically through thorough experiment.
