Korean Young Blood Is Determined to Win This Time

There will be an assessment game for youth soccer teams between Korea and Brazil at 14th, in Daegu World Cup Stadium. This game is focused because of the playing between Brazil, the champion nation of, and Korea, quarter-final nation of 2002 World Cup.

Particularly, Korean Youth Team has never defeated Brazil team. So even if the game is just assessment game, Korea Team is determined to win the game. Korean Team was defeated against Brazil for World Youth Game by 0-3 in 1981. Since then Korean team has been defeated four times.

In Korean team, caption Choi Sung-kuk (Korea University) can’t play the game as being selected for Asian game. So Chung Jh-kuk (Daeshin High School) and Kim Dong-hyun (Chunggu High School) of super strikers at high school level will play as two tops. And Koh Chang-hyun (Suwon), Kim Soo-hyung (Bukyung University) and Lee Jong-min (Suwon) will play as middle fielders, and Yu Hyo-jin (Korea University), Kim Jin-kyu (Andong High School), Lim Yu-hwan (Hanyang University) recovered recently from wounded and park Ju-sung (Masan Industrial High School) will play as defenders alternatively.

The 17 Brazilian players visiting Korea are all play in professional league teams. Some of them are known to play in European teams as main players.

Park Sung-hwa, director of Korea team commented, “It is a good opportunity for us to reinforce team systematization with the Asian Youth Soccer Championship before the 33th Asian Juvenile Soccer League on October 5 in Doha, Qatar.” and added. “I expect that the two top of Chung Jo-kuk and Kim Dong-Hyun play well.”
