Kim Young-ok, the Final Solution

Hyundai Hyperion comes close firstly to Women Professional Basketball Championship.

At 15th, Hyundai defeated Samsung Life by 101- 96 in the third game of 2002 Summer League of New Kookmin Bank Championship in Changchung Sports Center.

Hyundai won through the 2nd severe extended game, and recorded 2 wins and one loss. So only one more win will make Hyundai as ’the queen of basket’.

The day, Hyundai looked to win the game easily. Kim Young-ok played through inner and outer court quickly and succeeded shots, and Hyundai dominated the game score of 63-41 by leading 22 points before one minute and 38 seconds of the end of third quarters.

As defender of Samsung closed, Kim Young-ok provided the chances of middle shots to Kang Jee-suk staying outer, and defender stay away, she succeeded three point shost or drive-in lay up shots.

Because of being off Hyundai’s guard, in the last quarters, Hyundai allowed Park Jung-eun and Kim Kye-ryung to succeed shots, and the score became reversed by 74-75 before 2 minutes and 20 seconds of the final buzz.

Just before 2.6 seconds of the final buzz, Hyundai made tie score 79-79 by Kang Jee-suk’s free throwing. And Hyundai displayed its concentration again in the extended game.

IN the first extended game ended by tie score and the second began. Kim Young-ok’s play was remarkable also in the extended game. By back lay-up shot, Kim Young-ok succeeded first point in the second extended game, and decided the game by three point shot in45 degree left side before 2 minutes and 52 seconds, and waves the hands with confidence.

Kim Young-ok recorded 35 points including 100% success of four three points shots, Sanford recorded 28 points and Kang Jee-suk recorded 17 points including her own in middle shots.

The fourth game for the championship will be opened in Changchung Sports Center at 16th.
