Oxford University Arouse Criticism by Copying the Exam of Other University

Oxford, which is one of the leading Universities in England, has rumored to have copied problems for exams from that of other university. Oxford newspaper Cherwell has asserted that the last year’s exam problem of English Literature is same as that of Glasgow University in 1999.

Cherwell reported that 80% of the exam problems on the ‘English literature from 1780 to 1840’ used in Glasgow University were copied exactly on term-end examinations of ‘Romanticism from 1740 to 1832’ at Oxford University.

According to Cherwell, both exams included example sentences from the works of Wordsworth, Byron, Blake, Scott, Shelly and Charles Lamb. Cherwell suspected Dr. Duncan Woo who had taught English literature at Glasgow University in 1999 and currently is at Oxford. Dr. Woo is a lecturer at Saint Catherine College and a writer who had majored in the romanticism and contemporary English drama.

The spokesperson of Oxford University has emphasized on the fairness and strictness which Oxford values, but hasn’t given any comments on the examination in question.
