According to survey on imaginary confrontation in Capital area, one month ahead of 6.13 local elections, candidates from GNP and MDP are fighting close combat for Seoul mayor and Gyeong–gi governor, with a difference of 1.2 percent, and for Incheon mayor, candidate from GNP is leading his rival candidate by a big margin.
Dong-A newspaper and Korea Research Center (KRC) carried out survey on phone in three capital areas targeting 514 people from Seoul, 500 from Gyeong-gi, and 500 from Incheon, and for Seoul mayor, difference between candidate Lee Myoung-bak from GNP and candidate Kim Min-Suk from MDP was only 1.1 percent such as the former received 32.4 percent and the latter 31.3 percent.
For Gyeong-gi governor, it showed difference of 2 percent that is 26.7 of candidate Son Hak-Gyu from GNP and 28.7 percent of candidate Jin –Nyun from MDP.
In case of Incheon mayor, the difference was of 13.4 percent that is 28.5 percent of candidate Ahn Sang-soo from GNP and 15.1 percent of candidate Park Sang-eun from MDP.
However, above 80 percent respondents didn`t know who were the candidates for Gyeong- gi governor and Incheon mayor and 54.4 percent respondents didn`t answer for, especially Incheon mayor, therefore, future trend would be flexible, it is analyzed.
The priority job that should be done by governors is `solving out traffic jam` situation in Seoul, and `activation of local economy`.
Sample error of this survey was +4.3 percent points in Seoul and + 4.4 percent points in Incheon and Gyeong-gi, at a reliable rate of 95 percent.
