Helicopter Crashes into Han River Killing Three

While a CH 47 `Chinhook` Army Helicopter lowering a World Cup sculpture on the tower of the Olympic Bridge in Seoul, it crashed into the tower and fell to the Han River at 4:55pm on 29th.

Three crew members, two sub-officers Chun Hong-Yup, and Nam In-Ho, and a sergeant Kim Wu-Soo, were presumed to be killed. The helicopter was badly damaged after the crash. The helicopter was lowering a ten ton torch-shaped stainless sculpture on the main tower of the Olympic Bridge.

Army’s Air Operations Command was helping the Seoul City’s 1 billion won project to put a torch-shaped sculpture for two days beginning from 28th.

Army is looking for the bodies of the crew members by committing 4 teams of 50 scuba-divers from the Army’s Special Forces Command.
