Nursing officer brings lawsuit against 2 smoking army surgeons

A female nursing officer brought a suit against two smoking army surgeons to the army prosecution for their habitual smoking in an army hospital.

According to the prosecution Thursday, Maj. Chung So-Jin, nursing officer at the Army Changdong Hospital, filed a suit against two army surgeons, identified just as Maj. K and Capt. K, on the charge of disobeying and inflicting an injury to her. Chung allegedly said that they continued smoking in a conference room and an office at the hospital where smoking is prohibited under the direction of the chief of the army hospital.

Chung also brought a suit against the Korea Tobacco and Ginseng Corp. with the army prosecution on the reason that the state-run company sold cigarettes to the army.

¡°They violated the order of the chief of the hospital, their senior who banned smoking in the hospital, and their smoking was injurious to others¡¯ health, an act equal to the infliction of an injury,¡± Maj. Chung said in the suit.
