Russell Blaisdell, 91 (center), known as the Korean version of Schindler, receives an honorary doctorate of social welfare at Kyunghee University on Tuesday.
A university spokesman said the school offered the doctorate to Blaisdell for his devotion to saving numerous war orphans suffering from hunger and horror while serving as a chaplain in 1950 during the Korean War.
