Comforting N. Korean exiles vs. petition drive

Millennium Democratic Party (MDP) chairman Kim Joong-Kwon is on hand at a breakfast for those who fled North Korea during and after the Korean War. He exchanged a word of greeting and consolation with them at the Tower Hotel on Sunday. About the same time, the opposition Grand National Party, at its Yoido headquarters, kicked off a drive to collect 10 million signatures urging the ruling party to return MDP lawmakers on lease to the splinter United Liberal Democrats.
