"Fuck H.O.T,¡¯¡¯ the controversial song introduced recently on the Internet, was discovered to have been recorded by a Taiwanese group, "MC Hotdog,¡¯¡¯ donga.com confirmed Tuesday.

The all-male H.O.T. is one of Korea`s most popular dance pop groups.

MC Hotdog, a hip-hop trio, released its debut album last week on Taiwan¡¯s Rock Record label.

The controversial song is contained on the trio¡¯s first record issued in Taiwan. The original title of "Fuck H.O.T.¡¯¡¯ was "Let Me Sing Rap,¡¯¡¯ whose lyrics are different from those of the song that was placed on the Internet.

An official of the Korean branch of Rock Records said, "MC Hotdog placed the unfinished demo of the song on the Internet to gauge the response from netizens. On the regular album, lyrics referring to Korea¡¯s H.O.T., Clone and Japan¡¯s Utada Hikaru were deleted.¡¯¡¯

"I hope that Korean netizens will understand that the song takes a critical view of Taiwanese pop singers who are currently enjoying great popularity,¡¯¡¯ he said.

Meanwhile, netizens gave a mixed reaction to the Jan. 13 news report by donga.com.

"It is nonsense for another country to criticize Korea,¡¯¡¯ a netizen wrote. Another said, "As one of 250,000 fans who have loved H.O.T. for the past four years, I am very sorry that they defamed its members.¡¯¡¯ Another wrote, "Let¡¯s advance our music abroad by humbly accepting foreign criticism.¡¯¡¯
