Choi Chun-Shik, 35, one of the nation¡¯s veteran volleyball players, left the court after 16 years of brilliant performances in the Super League inaugurated in 1984, but he will meet his fans as a coach of the Korean Air team.

Choi had played as the center and light attacker on the national team for 11 years.

¡°I will devote myself only to the role of coach from this year¡¯s Super League,¡± he said.

Dubbed ¡°Young Noble in the Court¡± for his height of 197 centimeters and handsome appearance, Choi monopolized the award for the most popular player for three years in a row since 1987.
