Korea and the United States will hold a breakfast meeting Tuesday to coordinate on diplomatic and security matters between the two countries, the Defense Ministry disclosed Monday. The meeting will be attended by Defense Minister Cho Seong-Tae, Vice Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Ban Ki-Moon, from the Korean side, and U. S. Ambassador to Korea Stephen Bosworth and USFK commander Gen. Thomas Schwartz.
At the meeting, the two sides will be discussing wide-ranging questions, including cooperation between the Korean government and the United Nations Command regarding the restoration of the Seoul-Sinuiju railway and the construction of the Munsan-Gaeseong highway. They also will discuss the Korea-U.S. Security Consultative Meeting (SCM) slated for Sept. 21 and the inter-Korean defense ministers' meeting to be held Sept. 25-26 on Jeju Island as well as the current developments in the South-North relations.
