Kim receives Hawkings at presidential mansion

President Kim Dae-Jung received a visit from world-renowned astrophysicist Steven Hawkings at Chong Wa Dae on Thursday afternoon.

Kim told the visiting British scholar and Cambridge University professor that Korea is honored to host the Cosmo 2000 international forum attended by Hawkings and over 100 physicists from home and abroad. The meeting is taking place on Jeju-do off the south coast of the Peninsula. The President expressed his hope that Prof. Hawkings would continue to play a leading role in broadening academic and technical exchanges and cooperation between Korea and the United Kingdom in science and technology.
