A duet album featuring venerable South Korean pop star Cho Yong-Pil (50) and North Korea`s Jon Hae-Yeong (28), who sang the hit "Whistle," is in the works.
Wi Lee Media, headed by CEO Wi Il-Chung, revealed, "Sport marketing company JS Info Telecom and a North Korean official met in Beijing in June and agreed to a North-South duet album. Cho Yong-Pil has been asked to be the composer, lyricist and singer for the album, and further requests are to be made to Country Kko Kko and Finkl to participate in the project."
Wi Lee Media expects Cho and Jeon`s duet songs to be selected as the theme song for the 2 nations at the Sydney Olympics. More than 1 million record albums are to be produced and distributed free of charge to Koreans across the globe.
Cho Yong-Pil, who is currently in the U.S. recording his new album, remarked, "I have received a request to produce the North-South duet album and am waiting until the plans become more concrete."
