Fines of 100,000 to 1 million won will be meted out to people who cook outside designated camping sites or litter in the mountains.
The Office of Forestry stated that fines of 300,000 won will be levied on vacationers who cook in restricted zones and 200,000 won for those cooking outside of designated areas. The office will mobilize over 2,100 people during the vacation period to crack down on littering.
People who throw away trash in vinyl bags will face a 200,000 won fine, while those who toss litter from moving vehicles will be forced to pay a 1 million won penalty.
