The Kimchon Police Station will prosecute the drivers of the buses that were involved in an accident that killed 18 persons, including 13 Pusan high school students, who were returning to Pusan from a group tour Friday.

The drivers will be charged of violating the Road Traffic Law, a police spokesman said Monday.

The police concluded that the drivers` failure to secure safe distance and their speeding on the rain-soaked expressway was to blame for the tragedy.

The police also will announce the result of an examination by the National Institute for Scientific Investigation on the alcohol content in the drivers` blood Thursday.

Meanwhile, the bereaved families of the victims demanded special compensation besides the expenses for funerals and compensation covered by insurance companies in their meeting with Taeryuk Bus Company executives Monday.
