New Graduates Good in English but Poor in Korean

Company officials in charge of human resources (HR) believe that newly graduated employees are more lacking Korean language skills than they do in foreign languages.

Korean headhunter Job Korea surveyed 330 HR workers and released the results on November 6.

They responded that the newly employed lack the following abilities: work skills (44.8 percent), interpersonal relationships (23.9 percent), and Korean language skills including making documents (18.5 percent). The lack of foreign language ability only comprises 5.5 percent.

In the meantime, the most deficient ability is writing business plans and reports (43.3 percent).
