We will have cloudy skies in general and have rain early in the morning with a 60 percent chance of precipitation) on Monday, after which the winter cold will arrive. In Seoul, northern Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon and North Gyeongsang Provinces will see snow or rain, and it will likely stop in the morning. The Korea Meteorological Administration said on Sunday that the continental high pressure front expanding from the northwest will influence the weather, bringing snow or rain depending on the region.

Seoul, Gyeonggi and Gangwon (excluding the east coast in Gangwon Province) will see snow between the morning and daytime, while Chungcheong and Jeolla provinces will see snow from the daytime with a 60-80 percent change of precipitation. The northwestern south Gyeongsang inland regions will see snow during the day with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Estimated snowfall in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Gyeongsang, Jeju, and northwestern Gyeongsang inland regions will be less than 1 centimeter. Jeju mountains, Ulleung Island and the Dokdo islets will see 3-10 centimeters of snow while Chungcheong (excluding Southern Chungcheong western coast), southern coast of South Jeolla Province and northern Gangwon mountains and the five West Sea islands will see 1-3 centimeters of snow.

A weather agency official said with the cold air going south, temperatures across the nation will drop sharply from Monday morning and strong winds will result in wind chill. In some regions, icy roads require caution against accidents. This cold snap will continue to the weekend to ease somewhat on around next Monday.
