Avian flu alarms Korean farms

With more people dying of a new strain of avian flu in China, the Korean public health authorities are also on alert. The central and local governments have set up special preventive measures to brace for a possible transmission of the disease via migratory birds in the spring season. Public health officials are spraying preventive chemicals around a chicken farm in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province Tuesday morning.
