Prime beef at discount prices

A long line is formed Tuesday at a hanwoo (Korean beef) direct-sale marketplace in Seoul`s Cheonggye Square. Prepared by the Hanwoo Board and the Hanwoo Association`s chapter in North Gyeongsang Province and to end Wednesday, the event features top-grade hanwoo sold for below market prices. Tenderloin meat sells for 60,000 won (55.30 U.S. dollars) per kilogram, sirloin 65,000 won (59.90 dollars) and bulgogi (marinated grilled Korean beef) 20,000 won (18.40 dollars).
