Police ask for more materials in prosecution sex scandal

Posted December. 15, 2012 04:15,

Police asked prosecutors Friday for additional materials on a sex scandal involving a prosecutor in addition to a list of six people related to the prosecution, including two prosecutors suspected of leaking photos of the female victim.

A police source said, “The materials that prosecutors gave us do not show how those people who captured the pictures after accessing E-CRIS (an electronic investigation data table) could get the personal information of the victim and access the system. The materials do not show to whom they sent the pictures or on which basis prosecutors concluded that there was no evidence that they leaked the photo files.” Police will embark on a full-fledged investigation, including summoning the two prosecutors as soon as receiving the additional materials.

A prosecutor from the Incheon District Prosecutor’s Office is said to have accessed the system himself, made a photo file, and sent the file to six other prosecutors. After seeing the photos, a prosecutor at the Uijeongbu District Prosecutor’s Office had a staff member make a photo file, which eventually involved two more people in the case.
