“God told me so.”

Seoul police got an emergency call at 6:50 a.m. Thursday from someone who said, “It’s a spy!”

Seventy police squad members were dispatched to Hyeongjebong Peak on Mount Bukhan and combed the area for three hours. No trace of a spy was found, however.

To get further information, police asked the caller, a 52-year-old woman, why she made the report, to which she said, “A spy followed me for three days. Today he followed me to the place where I pray. When I hid, he went away.” When police asked how she knew he was a spy, she gave a puzzling answer.

She said she received a revelation from God and that He showed her the spy’s face. The face was identical with that of a mountain hiker who happened to pass by her. Leading a conservative female activist group, the woman said, “I went to Hyeongjebong Peak on Mount Bukhan to pray over the past three days.” A police source said, “We see consider this a false report since we can’t believe her.”
