French demonstrators protest reform of their national pension program and cause a major disruption in oil supply. French refinery workers opposed to pension reform stage a sit-in rally Monday by setting a fire in front of an oil refinery in Caen, northwest France, to block access to the refineries. Workers went on strike at two major refineries run by Total and other companies in the Normandy region of northern France, cutting off supply to more than 1,000 gas stations.
