Amid Japan`s imperialism, Korean patriot Ahn Jung-geun advocated a community of Korea, China and Japan to pursue peace and mutual prosperity in East Asia. A century after its birth, Ahn’s "Theory of Eastern Peace" has redrawn attention as an advanced theory for the growth of Northeast Asia. The commemorative performance "Lamp of the People, Torch of Peace" is held at Seoul Square in front of the Seoul City Hall Friday in a memorial service hosted by the Patriots and Veterans Affairs Ministry to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Ahn’s death.
