Pres. Lee vs. Park

Two factions within the ruling Grand National Party -- one loyal to President Lee Myung-bak and the other to former party leader Park Geun-hye -- are likely to collide head-on over the revised plan for Sejong City Tuesday. At a meeting of mayors and provincial governors, President Lee (left) said, “It is really deplorable that the Sejong City issue has been unexpectedly politicized.” Park, however, told journalists in front of the National Assembly of her strong opposition to the revisions on the same day, saying, “The public has lost its confidence in the government’s revised plan for Sejong City.”
