The groundbreaking ceremony of the project to restore the Nakdong River, the first among four major rivers slated for improvement, is held yesterday on a riverside in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province. Government officials including Prime Minister Han Seung-soo and some 1,000 residents attended the ceremony. The project covering 4.1 kilometers and cost 38.6 billion won (30 million U.S. dollars) and is slated for completion in late 2011.
