2010 World Cup Mascot Unveiled

The South Africa Local Organizing Committee for the 2010 World Cup soccer finals yesterday unveils its official mascot “Zakumi,” a leopard, 626 days before the start of the tournament. "Za" refers to South Africa in Dutch (Zuid Afrika) and "Kumi" means 10 in an African language. Zakumi also means “Come here” in the southern part of South Africa.
