Glacier Melts Early

Mountain climbers stand on the Rhone Glacier at the Furka Pass in the Swiss Alps Saturday sunk here and there due to melting. The Rhone Glacier, the source of the Rhone River in France, is melting down earlier than it did in previous years. Experts are worried that a serious water shortage can occur if the early melting of the glacier leads to less rain this summer.
