Mandatory Labeling of Beef Origin

At a reception dinner at a wedding hall located in Yeouido, Seoul, the barbecued beef menu shows where the beef came from. When the mandatory labeling of the origin of food takes effect at the end of this month, all restaurants and cafeterias nationwide will be required to identify the origin of beef they use. Deceptive or misleading labeling can lead to up to three years behind bars or less than 30 million won in fines, while no labeling is subject to less than 10 million won of fines.
