Pres. Lee to Visit U.S., Japan for Summits

President Lee Myung-bak will depart today on a seven-day trip to the United States and Japan for high-level summits in the first overseas visit of his term.

He will arrive in New York Tuesday afternoon and begin his official schedule with a talk with Korean Americans. Lee will then visit Camp David Saturday for summit talks with U.S. President George W. Bush.

Lee will then fly to Japan for summit talks with Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda on April 21. The Korean president is scheduled to return home the same day.
