With major networks releasing exit poll results of the general elections at 6 p.m. yesterday, the announcement of the conservative Grand National Party securing a parliamentary majority induced mixed responses from the party and its main rival, the liberal United Democratic Party. GNP Chairman Kang Jae-sup (left in left photo) and Floor Leader Ahn Sang-su (right in left photo) greet the results with applause while watching a TV monitor. In contrast, UDP leader Sohn Hak-kyu (front in right photo) finds it hard to contain his disappointment.
