Tiger Woods, the world’s No. 1 player, is going for a fifth consecutive PGA tour win.

Since the BMW Championship last September, Woods won every tournament he has played. He claimed victories in six tournaments so far including the Target World Challenge and the 2008 Dubai Desert Classic.

He was in full swing in the Arnold Palmer Invitational golf tournament at the Bay Hill Club in Orlando, Florida. He shot an even-par 70 with two birdies and two bogeys on the first day.

Woods tied for the 34th place, only five strokes behind Fred Couples and J.J. Henry, the shared leads, but he is still a strong favorite to win.

Last year’s champion Vijay Singh (Fiji) ranked tied third with a four-under-par 66 and the world’s No. 2 Phil Mickelson fell to tied 67th with a two-over-par 72. Korea’s Charlie Wi (TaylorMade) tied for 92nd with a four-over-par 74.
