Major Korean companies are successively expressing their assistance for the residents in Jeju Island and southern coastal area in the peninsula who have been heavily hit by Typhoon Nari.

The Samsung Group donated 2.2 million dollars for flood relief to the Jeju provincial office on September 21 and announced that the group has been managing relief activities with its own countermeasures to assist flood sufferers in the victimized area.

In the meantime, the Korean government, through Cabinet Council, decided to urgently assist with about 27 million dollars in aid to the flooded area.
