DLP Elects Kwon Young-ghil Candidate for Presidential Candidate

The Democratic Labor Party (DLP) Sunday elected Kwon Young-ghil to the presidential candidate of the progressive party.

Kwon beat Sim Sang-jeong with 19,109 votes (52.74 percent) out of the 36,231 votes in in the run-off of the party primary. Sim took 17,122 votes (47.26 percent). The voter turnout for the party was 73.59 percent. Out of a 50,119 total Electoral College voters, 36,736 took the part in the vote.

This will be his third run for office after his 1997 Victory of People 21 party run and his 2002 DLP party run.
