It has been confirmed that 223,188 of the 890,000 registered Electoral College members for the United New Democratic Party (UNDP) primary were either illegally registered or were asked by Party members to register.

On August 30, the UNDP said, “Aside from 65,000 UNDP patricians who supported the Uri Party and those members who registered 2 times, 46,175 of 899,026 electoral college members answered in a telephone survey that they did not register themselves to vote in the UNDP primary.”

In the phone survey, the UNDP excluded those whose national registry numbers didn’t match their names, ones without their full address, and ones with unusual telephone numbers. The number of those excluded was 177,013.

In the meantime, the UNDP delayed the scheduled convention for presidential candidate nomination on October 14 by one day to October 15. The UNDP also said that it would introduce the first ever “Mobile Vote,” where members of the electoral college nationwide can cast their ballots with their cell phones.
