Notting Hill Carnival

People wearing the local costumes of the Caribbean islands are dancing to the drumbeat in the Notting Hill Carnival held on August 27 in London, U.K. West Indian Immigrants to the U.K. first started the carnival. This year’s carnival commemorates the 200th anniversary of the United Kingdom’s abolishment of the slave trade.
