N. Korean Diplomat Visits S. Korean Embassy

A North Korean diplomat visited the South Korean embassy in Beijing for the first time since the division of the Korean peninsula to participate in a working group discussion on economy and energy, held on the sidelines of the six-party talks in the embassy on March 15. From left, Kurt Tong, Director for Asian Economic Affairs at the U.S. National Security Council, Oleg Davydov, Principal Counselor the 1st Asian Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Qiu Guohong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Chun Yung-woo, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, Kim Myong Gil, a minister for North Korea`s mission to the U.N., and Junichi Ihara, Deputy Director of Southeast Asia Division at Japanese Foreign Ministry.
