On February 18, the latest fighter, the F-22 Raptor, of U.S. Air Force made its appearance at America’s Kaneda Air Base in Okinawa. The F-22, equipped with stealth functions, flies at a speed of Mach 1.58. The F-22 was developed as a replacement for the F-15 and is being deployed outside of U.S. soil for the first time. A total of 10 F-22s were deployed at Kaneda and will participate in a joint operation between the U.S. and Japan’s air force and navy.
